we do not have a membership roll.. we are not a political party.. we have one basic issue that we are addressing, which is: we want federal spending to be lower than federal revenues.
we do not say how this is to be achieved.. some liars on this site are claiming that the tea parties are actively pushing to achieve the balanced budget by cutting only liberal policies.

I don't remember claiming that we had/needed/wanted "balance". You made that up.
Onelife...this is why your party is so unattractive to most Americans. You respond to my respectful comment to you with a disdainful comment directed at me. Apparently, you didn't get the high level pun in the word "balance," which is why the word was put in quotations. The pun was between the "balance" in the balanced budget sentence. It wasn't a really clear pun, so no big deal.
What is sad, is that you then chose to assert that I "made...up" a claim. What childish black/white thinking. Those unnecessary, scorched-earth types of responses and actions are precisely why members of this board, and the public in general, have tired so quickly of your party. Your posts simply help the established political parties and work against yours. Many look at how you, and many of your members, respond to others and say to themselves that they just do not want such persons in charge of government.
On a closing note, I totally agree with you that you, nor I, nor anyone with a modicum of reason, has EVER attributed the characteristic of balance to the Tea Party. ; )

One manner in which to demonstrate Tea Party "balance" is to ask the poster who started the name-calling to cease posting in your thread also.

Lifeisgood...from your posts, you strike me as a very honest-hearted person who is seeking to make things better. I am a Democrat, and while I share your goal, a desire for a balanced buget, I disagree with how you seek to acheive this goal and more importantly, your time table. With that said, your party will not achieve much. You are too small to make a substantial impact, and you have scared-off moderates, which will only help the Democratic party in the up-coming election.
You can review my prior posts, and you will find that I was quite pleased to see so many of you elected to Congress, because your pogrom will virtually guarantee Obama's re-election.
However, what you are doing is part of the American democratic process, and as long as you are respectful (which has not been your party's strong point) toward others and their opinions, I welcome your viewpoint and energy.

how can jehovah's witnesses demand respect from the medical community as regards to their refusal to take blood tranfusions?
how could i ask my doctor, or anyone for that matter, to engage in my suicide?
how can a witness ask a doctor, or anyone, to take their child's life?.
There are cases where the doctor on duty knows full well that without a blood transfution the patient will die, barring a miracle. So, in these cases, a Witness telling a doctor that they will not take blood under any circumstance is akin to asking the doctor to help them commit suicide
While I am no fan of the blood ban, the above is a false analogy. A patient has the full right to decide his or her medical treatment whether that be to take antibiotics or blood. Since it is not the doctor's decision, it is not his/her responsibility.
Under such a false analogy, one could argue that any patient who ultimately said no more chemotherapy was asking his or her doctor to "help them commit suicide."
People have the right to make their own medical decisions, even stupid ones. With this said, the issue of children I see quite differently.
